Ritua is local-first: your rituals, notes, and history live on your device, not on our servers, because we don’t have any. Here’s exactly what that means, in plain terms.
Private by architecture, not by promise.
Most apps ask you to trust a privacy policy: a promise about what they’ll do with the data they collect. Ritua works the other way around. There’s no account and no cloud, so your habit data is never collected in the first place. It’s created on your phone, stored on your phone, and stays there. That’s not a setting you switch on; it’s how the app is built.
What Ritua can’t do
The best privacy guarantee is one that isn’t possible to break.
We can’t read your rituals.
There’s no server to send them to. Your habits, notes, and history exist only in the app, on your phone.
We can’t sell or share your data.
We never collect your habit data, so there’s nothing to sell, share, or hand to an advertiser. Ritua shows no ads.
We can’t lose it in a breach.
There’s no central database of Ritua users to hack. The only copy of your data is the one you hold.
We can’t lock you in.
Premium lets you export everything to a standard file and take it elsewhere. Your files remain portable and under your control.
The only things that can leave your phone.
We’d rather be specific than say “we care about privacy.” Three things, each on your terms:
Purchases
If you buy Premium, the App Store, Google Play, and RevenueCat handle the transaction using an anonymous ID. We never see your name, email, or card.
Anonymous usage statistics
If the Privacy setting is on, Ritua sends a small, reviewed set of anonymous product events so we can improve onboarding and purchases. No ritual names, notes, history, reminders, or other habit content is included. You can turn this off any time.
Premium backups you export
When you use Premium to export and share your data, that file goes wherever you choose to send it, and only then. Ritua never uploads it on its own.

With Premium, export a full backup as JSON or a plain CSV spreadsheet from Settings, then import it again or bring your history in from supported habit apps. The format stays portable and the files remain under your control.
